1. Identify the legal businesses
Write down the telehealth brand, the clinical practice, and the dispensing pharmacy. They may be separate companies.
2. Verify clinician licensing
Confirm that the prescribing professional holds the appropriate license for the patient's location. Use the relevant state licensing-board lookup rather than relying on a website badge.
3. Identify the pharmacy before payment
Ask which pharmacy is expected to dispense and verify that pharmacy through the state board of pharmacy. For compounded prescriptions, ask whether it is a 503A pharmacy or a 503B outsourcing facility and understand what that description does and does not mean.
4. Read the complete price
Look for enrollment fees, memberships, medication, shipping, labs, higher-dose increases, minimum commitments, and automatic renewal.
5. Read cancellation and refund terms
Know the deadline, method, and effect of cancellation. Save a copy of the terms displayed at enrollment.
6. Test support
Before relying on a service, locate the clinical contact route, customer support, adverse-event instructions, and process for a damaged or warm shipment.
7. Evaluate the advertising
Be skeptical of guaranteed results, guaranteed prescriptions, claims that a compounded drug is an FDA-approved generic, or a comparison that hides the site's financial relationship.
